Farina, IL-(Radio Effingham)- The FFA South Central Chapter had a very eventful National FFA week. The chapter carried out several community service activities and organized numerous events throughout the week, and beyond, due to an ice storm which postponed events to the following week.

South Central FFA members partnered with Mission South Central and helped build and install several ramps for people in need in the area. Chapter members attended church together at Farina United Methodist Church; had a chapter bowling night at the Salem Bowl; led a prayer around the mast, in high school; held a Greenhand workshop for first-year FFA members; introduced classroom agriculture lessons to elementary school students; hosted a trivia night at Kinmundy Christian Church; partnered with Salem Elks Lodge and hosted a chicken dinner; hosted a free breakfast, open to school teachers and community members; had Drive Your Tractor to School day in high school; organized “Ag Olympics” in the gymnasium for the entire student body; and had many school-wide themed dress-up days.

These events, coordinated by the South Central FFA chapter, would not be possible without the generous support received from the community. Thank you!
