Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, who is the chief adviser of the Punjab Cricket Association, has alleged that “illegal activities” are being carried out by some officials of the state body.

Harbhajan, however, did not mention the names of the officers in his letter, which was sent to APC members and district units of the body.

Harbhajan, also a Rajya Sabha MP, also sent a detailed letter on the “bad practices” of the current regime to CM Bhagwant Mann and national party leader Aam Aadmi and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

“The crux of the matter is that the PCA strives to induct 150 voting members to tip the scales in their favor and these inductions are done without the consent of the supreme council/general body or without consulting the councilor in chief (Singh),” he wrote in his letter.

“Therefore, it violates the BCCI constitution, PCA guidelines and breaches the transparency and ethical standards of sporting bodies.

“To hide their illegal activities, they do not hold formal PCA meetings and make all suo moto decisions that serve their selfish motives,” he wrote.

Asked about his letter, Harbhajan told PTI, “I have been receiving complaints for 10-15 days about the way the senior official is carrying out his job. repeatedly in ignorance of many political decisions.

“Today I was told that they have already increased the amount of membership dues from 60 to 70 people. The process must be stopped immediately. I had no choice but to write individually to the members and also to inform the Chief Minister.”
