WHAT WE KNOW: Geneseo’s Christmas Walk is December 11, and their Christmas Open Day is November 19-21.

WHAT’S NEW: House Manager Zack Sullivan described the city council’s open house activities on Tuesday. A “Shop Geneseo” promotion will take place from November 19 through December 12, and people can enter to win for every $ 100 spent at Geneseo businesses. Candlelight shopping will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday downtown. A gift wrap fundraiser will be held at the Old Library by Inspired Continuing Care. Free horse and buggy rides will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a farmer’s market from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Moose Lodge. On Sunday, a free meeting with Santa Claus and a free photo shoot will take place at the Central Theater from noon to 2 p.m.

AND AFTER: The city is expected to approve a 4.99% increase in the 2022 property tax. The total levy would be $ 1,495,725, or $ 71,125 more than last year. The tax rate would drop from $ 1.0067 to $ 1.0093. The city holds a public hearing on the levy at 5:30 p.m. on November 23 and votes on the levy at a special city council meeting following the plenary committee.
