Extracurricular activities have always been the refuge where students escape from the challenges of academia. This It is through this outlet that students find a way to recharge their batteries and recharge their batteries to face the challenges and hardships that accompany their school career. As an essential part of the learning journey,
extracurricular activities not only function as a source of entertainment, but also serve as a means by which individuals can learn transferable life skills, many of which would be useful throughout their lives. Important skills such as critical thinking, memory, problem solving and creativity can be acquired through such activities which can stimulate academic results of students as well as their personal development.
As not everything can be taught by books, these activities are important to further develop students’ interests and talents. This is one of the main reasons why The Modern College of Business and Science is keen to carry out such activities with the aim of promoting great the interest and encouragement of outstanding talents to surface. In MCBS, students can channel their creativity and find a outlet that would allow them to stand out as individuals.
MCBS offers an array of extracurricular activities to choose from, including entrepreneurship clubs, arts clubs, student unions and sports. An example is the launch of a project called “Future Entrepreneurial Leadership” which was launched. This initiative took place on the college campus during the months of May and June in 2022, to support MCBS students and alumni business owners by providing a platform to showcase and sell their products on campus. As we gradually return to pre-pandemic life, videophone and online chat services such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet continue to allow students to have a variety of ways to participate in these activities.
Moreover, thanks to modern technology, additional alternatives are always accessible with a click and the database The MCBS team puts a lot of time and effort into making sure students have all the technical support they need.
Many other activities were carried out through the virtual world, such as debating tournaments which allowed students to debate and discuss many current issues occurring in the world.
One thing the pandemic has managed to teach the world is: resilience. Faced with all the challenges that the pandemic launched towards us and with the optimism that accompanies the return to normalcy, MCBS continues to strive to provide the highest quality education and skills throughout life. Extracurricular activities are an essential aspect of learning and with ever-changing technology, the possibilities are endless.
