MANILA, Philippines — The Electoral Commission (Comelec) debate for the vice-presidential (VP) candidates is set for March 20, its spokesman James Jimenez said Thursday.
However, one of the nine vice-presidential bets will not be present due to a medical issue.

The Comelec presidential debate is scheduled for March 19.
“All the VP candidates have confirmed except one who unfortunately I think will undergo surgery… Si Lito Atienza,” he shared.
The hopefuls who will participate in the debate are:
-Walden Bello
-Rizalito David
-Sara Duterte-Carpio
-Manny Lopez
-Willie Ong
-Kiko Pangilinan
-Carlos Serapio
-Vicente Sotto III
National and local elections will take place on May 9.
